Rifle Clubs on the Isle of Wight

Here are a list of Rifle and Pistol clubs on the Isle of Wight, and where applicable their contact details and website links.

Shanklin Rifle and Pistol Club

Shanklin Rifle and Pistol club is is the Islands largest club located in Shanklin. They have an indoor range consisting of:

  • 6 yd Air
  • 10 m Air
  • 25 yd Smallbore
  • 20 yd Smallbore and Air

They also have an outdoor 25 yd, 50 yd, 50 m and 100 yd range at Downend, which the majority of other clubs use too. They can cater for smallbore, fullbore, blackpowder and air.

Newport (IW) & District Rifle Club

Newport (IW) & District Rifle Club shoot on their range at Sainham, which consists of a 20 yd and 25 yd outdoor range with a covered firing point. In addition to also shooting outside at Downend in the summer season, they have access to the Military 300m range at Newtown. They can cater for smallbore, fullbore, blackpowder, air and shotgun.

Cowes Rifle Club

Cowes Rifle club shoot on their own range in Cowes, which consists of a 20 yd and 25 yd indoor range. They also shoot at Downend in the summer season. They can cater for smallbore, fullbore, black powder and air.

Carisbrooke Rifle Club

Carisbrooke Rifle club is a smallbore rifle club which caters mainly for Air Rifle and Air Pistol, but also .22 rimfire. They shoot in Shanklin’s indoor range as they have not got one of their own.

Westwight Rifle and Pistol Club

Westwight Rifle and Pistol Club is a smallbore rifle club that has their own indoor 25 yd range in Freshwater. They also use the Downend range during the summer season.

Island Scouts Shooting

Although the Isle of Wight Scouts don’t actually have a shooting club, they do shoot both smallbore and air rifle at Shanklin’s indoor range.
